Chardonnay 2018 $26
Inaugural vintage. This is crafted in the style that we personally prefer, avoiding the heavy hands of malo-lactic fermentation and excessive oak. The aroma offers suggestions of vanilla, lemon and butterscotch, which are also delivered in the flavor profile on the palate. Medium in body, there is a delightful liveliness from ample and integrated natural acidity, that also provides for a long mouth
Charbono 2015 $30
Charbono shows a rare combination for a California red of thorough ripeness and bright tangy acidity. The 2015 Charbono is lighter in body and lower in alcohol than many red wines, but intoxicating in a unique complexity. Aromas display elements of grape jelly, Italian herbs and spices, and red rose petals. The mid-palate is quite delicate, and a lively acidity helps create a long, lingering finish. This is a very versatile food wine!
Kelly's Mountain Cab 2013 $29 BTG (reg price $65),
In 2012, when Kelly barrel-tasted and discovered the differences between each mountain-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon block and those of the Valley floor, she selected this Atlas Peak cuvée to be bottled separately (our inaugural vintage was 2011). The production is quite small, but we enjoy each AVA’s unique character.
Atlas Peak is a much cooler growing area with direct maritime influence from both the southwest (San Pablo Bay) and the southeast (Suisun Bay) and the resulting wines develop an elegance, a lightness on their feet and beautiful natural acidity. Cherry and spice from the forests, bright acidity and medium body dance on the palate. Red cherry flavors seem to last forever in the finish. This offering is a beautiful example of one of the most successful Cabernets born in high elevation.
Claret 2014 $39
Our flagship wine is full and rich and even across the palate. Black current and cherry aromas marry with a hint of cedar in this elegant and seamless Cabernet-based blend. The complexity of flavors is carried across the palate in a silky texture, resolving in a lingering and gentle finish. The Claret, Napa-Style, is made of the best we have in the cellar – a classic Left Bank Bordeaux-style blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
The mountain vineyards (Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder) share a common denominator in structure – big firm shoulders, masculine tannins, but individual characteristics. Howell Mountain, at 2000ft, on the east side of Napa Valley, has extreme exposure, larger temperature swings, and volcanic soil, creating very firm tannins. Mount Veeder has geologically churned volcanic and ocean-floor soil and the vineyard is nestled in a dense wild forest, which contributes exotic aromatics of menthol and spice in a slightly more refined interplay. Calistoga vineyards are hotter and earlier to ripen, which provide the mid-palate lushness of glycerin and a higher alcohol
Conclusão Port 2014 in 375 ml $20
Conclusion.” We are are excited to introduce Conclusão, a fouryear barrel-aged classic Port-style fortified wine. York Creek Vineyards, atop Napa Valley’s famed Spring Mountain, is our source of traditional Portuguese grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cao and Tinta Barocca, which all together produced just three barrels of this delicious dessert wine
